Our program runs much like a small preschool or kindergarten class. Through teacher-led activities, play, academic learning, social interaction, and outdoor time, children build the foundational skills and behaviours they will need for school and private school assessments.

The little-kids version of Ivy Lab Clubhouse. Children have additional time to play, practice, work independently, solve puzzles, complete activities, follow instructions, socialize, and apply what they have learned – with educators nearby to observe, guide, and challenge them when needed. Unlike our regular Saturday morning ECE classes, which are structured two-hour classes led by our ECE teaching team, the Assessment Practice Studio gives children more time and more opportunities to become comfortable with the skills, activities, and situations they may encounter during private school assessments. Some children do not necessarily need another formal class – they simply need time to work and learn. Depending on the child, a session might include puzzles, pencil-and-paper activities, fine-motor tasks, games, independent work, following multi-step instructions, conversation, group activities, or assessment-style challenges. There is also time to play, socialize, and simply become more comfortable functioning independently in a learning environment. Like our Clubhouse program for older students, children are not expected to spend the entire session being formally taught. Teachers observe, guide, challenge, introduce activities, and step in where they can make the biggest difference. This allows children to accumulate valuable practice without making their preparation feel overly structured or rehearsed.
